How much money somebody is asking for a thing. Not the same as what it is worth to you.

For the grown-up

Price is the amount asked in exchange. It is set by the seller, tested by the buyer, and settles somewhere between what it cost to make and what somebody will pay. It is a number, not a fact about the object.

The easy mistake

Careful here. Price and value are different and children benefit from hearing that early. A thing can be expensive and worth nothing to you, or cheap and worth a great deal.

Money A way to trade what you have for what you want, without having to find one person who has both. Business Somebody fixing a problem for somebody else, who says thank you with money. Customer The person with the problem. Without one of these, there is no business, only a hobby. Profit What is left over after you pay for everything it took to make the thing.
