Value, trade, price, profit, save, invest and four more, in the order they actually depend on each other.

- A printer and scissors.
What to do
- Print and cut. The crayon-level meaning is on the back of each card.
- Before reading any of them, ask them to put the cards in order from easiest to hardest.
- Now put them in the order the ideas actually depend on each other: value, trade, money, price, save, invest.
- Compare the two orders and talk about where they disagree.
Ask afterward
- Is value the same as price?
- Which of these could you explain to somebody with no words written down?
- Which one needs another one to make sense first?
- Which of these have you used today without noticing?
For the grown-up
The dependency order in step three is the real content. Most money confusion in adults comes from having learned price and money before value, and doing the sort out loud makes the ordering visible instead of assumed.
